Speed Up

You can check and the alternative picking for speed.

What i must do to increase the speed of my playing?
Speed needs time and speed needs slow playing. Every technique and every exercise need their time, you can't learn all these together.
If you want to play too fast there are three tips:
1) Relax
2) play by making a small corner in your pick and not playing parall to the strings
3) play the same way whether you play slowly or quickly, do not change according to your playing speed.

You must feel comfortable and play slowly to begin with warm up
(There is some amazing licks here)
metronome: up to 180.
Try to adapt before increasing the metronome.Be carefull when change strings.
metronome to 60-140 (and 160 if you want)

Alternative exercise

What is alternative? Picking strictly down and up the string. Pick up your pick with your first finger (index) and thumb, and picking down and up with slow movement. You can try to give a little angle to your pick for smoothier playing.

The first three examples are some classic exercises. Always play slowly enough to be sure of the accuracy of alternative picking!
metronome for beginners: 60-150
metronome for others: up to 180

If you're new to this kind of exercises, that will take a few days to adjust, you can start playing two notes per beat. Such lick is very common in rock and metal.
metronome for beginners: 60-100
metronome for others: up to 140

Just be careful in the last beat and accurate. You will learn to change tempo as you play.

Basic Exericses

Here are some of the basic exercises for beginners, always playing with metronome slowly enough. If it is necessary, you can play two notes per beat for start.
You can play this exerices while you see movies, you will need less one hour per day.
More advanced players can try to increase their speed.

Learn first each exercise and then use metronome. Use all your finger:
Begginers: 60-100
Advanced players:100- 140
In this example be careful to be exactly in the beat and don't miss the change position. Don't forget alternative picking as the tab says.
Begginers: 60-80
Advanced players: 80 - 140 (160 for more extreme)
These two are a bit  different. Use sweep picking(as show in tab) and every time must sound only one note, take your time to sound right. You can stop the noise from the wrong strings with your right hand or lifting a finger on the string when you play the next string.
Begginers: 50-70
Advanced players: 90- 140 (160 for more extreme)
